Dr. Terryl Propper
Dr. Terryl Propper is a graduate of UTHSC and UNC Endodontic Post graduate program with a certificate in endodontics and an MS in molecular biology.
Terryl has a very diverse background- after graduation, she was an associate dentist in Knoxville and owned a practice in Alcoa, Tn. She was a finalist for the ADA. Hillenbrand Fellowship, which is a one-year fellowship at the ADA in administration. She didn’t win the fellowship but was offered a job at the ADA as assistant director of marketing.
Dr. Propper was a member of the ADA speaker’s bureau on marketing and management and was the editor of the first Marketing Newsletter, Dynamic Dental Strategies. She was a member. Of the Success Lecture Series and has lectured at the ADA, AAE, Yankee, Greater NY, Hinman and many regional and state dental meetings. Dr. Propper joined a group practice in Nashville, Where se practiced for 30 years and served as managing partner and CEO.
Dr. Propper was known in the dental community for having a unique niche- she gave her patients a root canal and a recipe. An outstanding cook, Terryl has been a finalist in the National Beef Cook Off twice, The Tillamook Mac and Cheese contest and a semi finalist in the Paul Newman Contest. She is known for her prowess in the kitchen and has been featured in Cooking Light, Southern Living and other cooking related publications. Dr. Propper has been recognized as an Outstanding Alumna at UTHSC, was the first female president in 153 years of the TDA and the first female recipient of the Jack Wells Award. She has Been recognized with the Woman to Watch Award, Richard Sullivan Award, Spirit of Service Award, Presidents Award and in May 2023 will receive the highest honor that the Am Association of Endodontists awards, The Coolidge Award. Most recently, Dr. Propper spoke at Endocon in San Diego, and she is a featured speaker at Tulane University Women Making Waves. Dr. Propper retired in January 2019 from practice and co-founded. Endodontic Practice Partners, an endodontic focused Dental Support Organization. She is the Chief Dental Officer and one of a handful of women in her role.
